Tips to run a successful Facebook page

Having a Facebook page will help your business in different ways: it will improve your SEO, it is a great place to connect with your audience and it will help you to create a community with your followers. As a plus, you will have valuable feedback from your customers and their preferred content and you will get to know them better!

Facebook is still the most used social media platform following Hootsuite's report ¨Digital 2022: Global Overview¨ that you can read here: https://bit.ly/3pcz3vC. That makes this channel a very interesting one for business as there is a huge amount of potential clients and very easy to segment.

But there are some practical aspects you need to take into consideration when opening your Facebook page. Facebook Business will guide you through the process but remember these pieces of advice:

Your Facebook page should represent your brand. Choose colors, images and texts aligned to your company’s identity. This will help your followers to recognize you.

When going through the different steps to set up your page, you will have to choose a category for your business. Take your time to find the right one as this will help your potential audience to find you.

Find a good profile picture and cover photo. It should have a good quality but it shouldn’t be too heavy. The profile picture will be on a small bubble and the cover picture will be in a rectangular big image on the top of your page. You can be creative and add some extra information there, like SoMe profiles or a picture of your products.

Then you will go through all the page info: description of your business, contact information, etc. Here you need to spend some time to make sure that all fields are perfect.

Add your username. This will help people to find your business. Again, it has to represent your brand.

Think about your Facebook strategy and what do you want it to do for you: do you want your audience to visit your website? Or do you want them to be able to communicate with you? Use your page to help you to achieve your goals.

Create a call to action. You have a specific button for it. Do you want to send them to the website? Use “Learn more”. Do you want them to call you? Use “Call now”. You have many options! Explore them and pick the one that matches your objective.

Know your target audience and use the page to engage with them. Share relevant information with them and always check the insights Facebook provides to know what works best.

Post regularly. It does not mean that you have to post every day. It depends on your business, your audience and your product. But find your rhythm and be constant. It is a good idea to create a content calendar so you know in advance which content to share and when. You can use the planner option on Facebook Business suite to schedule your posts.

Once you gain new followers your job is to engage them and interact with them. Publish relevant and visual content, posts easy to share info, contests, raffles, ask their opinion about issues… And always be present to answer and create conversation with your followers.

Follow the 80/20 rule: 80% of original or cured content and 20% of promotional content. Promotional content includes everything oriented to sell like product information, client’s testimonial, business accomplishments etc. Use this channel to humanize your brand and allow yourself to share more personal content.

Invest. Facebook rewards (and promotes) those pages who spend money with them. Facebook ads, promoted posts, etc. are an option here. Spend wisely and keep track of their performance. Facebook offers great options to segment the audience, which is perfect to reach the people who most likely will be interested in your product or service.
